Bruce Springsteen made a surprise appearance Saturday at the Light of Day Winterfest concert in Red Bank, New Jersey. There, he dedicated his song “The Promised Land” to Renee Good, the Minneapolis woman killed by an ICE agent in Minnesota.
Mourning for Renee Nicole Good, the singer decried the Trump administration and the threat to freedom posed by “heavily armed masked federal troops invading an American city.”
"So this song is for you, and the memory of the mother of three and American citizen Renee Good,” he concluded before launching into the melody.
Student organizers have called for walkouts and protests across the United States on Friday to demand that federal immigration agents withdraw from Minnesota, after two fatal shootings of U.S. citizens generated public outrage.
