A woman is recovering from multiple snake bites after a highly venomous reptile got caught in the loop of her shoe.

Multiple people have been rushed to hospital overnight in parts of regional Queensland for reported snake bites.

NT Police have confirmed the death of a 41 year old woman in Katherine earlier this month was from a snake bite. Toxicology reports are still pending to identify what type of snake was responsible.
