It takes a sloth an entire month to digest just one leaf and they can store up to can store up to a third of their body weight in faeces. Despite it being incredibly risky for them, sloths always climb down to the rainforest floor to poo. No one knows for sure why, but scientists think they’re using their poo to communicate, sharing information about themselves with other sloths through pheromones.
