Let’s find the transfer function of this series RLC circuit. The transfer function of a linear, time-invariant (LTI) system (in this case, the given circuit) is the ratio of the output signal (in this case, the capacitor voltage) to the input signal (in this case, the voltage source). The transfer function of an LTI system completely characterises it; it allows us to find the output of the system to an arbitrary input. For this reason, you can think of the transfer function as a “response-genera
