You may have heard of going down into a split, but have you heard of standing up into a split? The “Standing Side Split” or Pang Tui Tang Shen in Chinese classical dance is a prime example of the balance and flexibility required in professional training. Standing on one leg, the dancer then raises the other to form a vertical split in the air.
