Check out how this octopus changes the shape of the skin above its eye and body. These bumpy sections of skin (known as “papillae”) can be transformed in order to change texture. Working by a hydrostatic mechanism, these skin changes give the octopus 3D camouflage by displaying a less identifiable edge.
