I'm the Map Turtle! This is video (I swear) of a common map turtle found near our bird viewing platorm that overlooks our largest pond, pond 24. We identified this as a map turtle based on it's markings and shell shape. It is often confusesd with a large painted turtle except the painted turtle has a much more smooth shell and a lot more color. To find out more about Michigan's turtles, follow the link below.
