Zip-R over CDX for this coastal build with Shingles on the exterior. Shear from the solid CDX then insulation & nail base with the @huberwood Zip-R 9 panels. If you are not familiar Zip-R is a Polyiso Foam bonded to Zip panels to get a nice continuous thermal break on the outside of the house. It’s often just used over studs but on this coastal build the engineering called for a larger shear value than Zip-R alone would have given thus the solid CDX THEN Zip-R. Love this!
