This storm I documented this last Spring over the open desert near Hope, NM is one of the best examples I have ever captured of a rotating updraft (the cloud portion of the storm). Storms with these persistently rotating updrafts are called supercells. This one is an LP Supercell, meaning low-precipitation. This is also a classic example of that as this storm was producing very little rain but was chunking out bigger pieces of hail which is why it was severe off and on through its lifecycle. A r
